Decent, but don't expect life after 3 yr warranty ends August 29, 2009 Tamayo Duck (Lafayette, IN United States) I have owned one 940T for 3 years and 1 month. The panel itself is okay picture-wise, but not stellar or amazing. It does have minimal light bleed from the edges, which I am happy about, but the pixel response and contrast ratio are not anything to be excited about. Also shipped with one stuck-magenta pixel.
My biggest gripe with this monitor is that just within the last month (coincidentally JUST as the warranty expired) the monitor has developed a strange smudge-like flaw that looks as if someone with a dirty finger touched the top of the screen and then swiped their finger downwards about 3/4s of the way to the bottom. No cleaning has been able to fix this problem, but it was only really visible when displaying darker colors and thus didn't bother me that much.
Just last night, though, it developed a pixel-wide vertical line of stuck cyan pixels just to the right of the center of the screen. This is the last straw, so I won't be buying another Samsung - I've had NEC monitors last twice this long without so much as a dead pixel, with higher color quality!
Samsung's reptable quality. June 17, 2009 Roger C. Peterson (Salem, OR) This was my fourth LCD Monitor by Samsung and have not even recieved one with a bad bixel.
HAPPY WITH IT March 24, 2009 Robert Langevin (Pownal, Vt.) Samsung SyncMaster 940T 19-inch LCD Monitor - BlackI received the product last week. Three days after i ordered.
As the product is an plug and play unit, Ijust plugged in the cable and power cord and the monitor pretty much did everything else. A5 year old could set it up.
Thanks for the great bargain!

Poor Warranty Repair Support December 18, 2008 T. Clemons Dealing with Samsung Support is a NIGHTMARE!
We have a number of 940T monitors that have failed under warranty (either died or developed lines in the display). Returning them to Samsung has been difficult since no one answered their phone and no one returned our voice messages to report our problems.
Here is the most recent experience: when we finally were able to connect, we were eventually sent a replacement monitor that died within 8 hours. After that, we had to drive to the UPS store to exchange the dead one for a replacement monitor that turned out to be the wrong model (widescreen). Now I'm told that a replacement 940T is no longer available.
The issue has been escalated to Executive Customer Relations, but I'm still feeling ignored, despite assurances from someone who says they will "own" this issue. We were told to send in our bill of sale and a refund would be issued. After doing that and waiting a week, I followed up and found no action had been taken. I have to call them back again to try to get some movement. I think their policy is that if you make it so difficult for a customer to receive warranty coverage, they will give up and throw the defective product away. Please consider this when looking at Samsung Monitors and their bogus three year warranty.
Beautiful, bright monitor January 12, 2008 G. Ford (Portland, ME USA) Installed easily using the digital interface. Picture quality is great! I use it for both daily web surfing, e-mails, etc. as well as editing photos. Color fidelity seems good so far, no bad pixels.
I was hoping to purchase a widescreen format monitor, but none of the widescreens seem to use the type of LCD panel that is best for faithful and consistent color reproduction. In moving from my widescreen laptop monitor to this, I was worried that the loss of screen width (in pixels) would bug me. However, I have found that the added height (in aspect ratio terms) makes up for it easily in all the applications I have used so far.
Pixel pitch is great - it keeps text large enough to legible without having to get my nose too close to the screen. The screen can be very bright (which can be both good or bad - depending on the situation), but once I calibrated it using Spyder2Express, everything looks wonderful.
Good product, good price.
